Hello Patients, Friends, and Family,

We Smile Dentistry is very happy to announce that we will be gradually opening our doors starting Monday, June 8, 2020.
We have made some changes to ensure that your safety and our team’s safety is at the highest of standards. Please view the short video that Dr. Spagnuolo has put together to highlight changes that were made to the office. Please check below for some of the changes you will experience when visiting our office.
  • We will be screening every patient the day before their appointment.
  • Day of arrival we are requesting that you remain outside or in your vehicle and call the office to let us know you have arrived.
  • We will be able to inform you that you can enter or if you need to stay in your car.
  • We will be meeting you at the locked door.
  • You will be given a hand sanitizer to use.
  • We are also requesting that you wear your own mask.If you do not have a mask, we will provide you one.
  • Your temperature will be checked.
  • You will be filling out a COVID-19 form to complete.
  • You will then be ushered into a room.
  • We are trying to limit the use of the waiting room.
  • Our washroom will only be available for emergency use only. Please brush your teeth and use your own facilities before your dental appointment.
Further, we have to limit the number of people that are in the office, therefore we are not able to see families all on the same day. They will now be separate appointments. Also, if your hygiene appointment was canceled by the office, we will contact you to rebook. Thank you for your patience!

WE WILL NOT BE SEEING COVID-19 POSITIVE PATIENTS.

Safety is always our number one concern and if you feel uncomfortable coming to the office at this time, we respect your decision.

We are looking forward to taking care of our patients again. Any questions please give the office a call at (226) 605-0042.

Dental anxiety can vary from butterflies in the stomach to paralyzing fear. At We Smile Dentistry in London, ON, we understand that patients may be too nervous to sit through a lengthy procedure without help. That’s why Dr. Spagnuolo and Dr. Charrette offer several forms of sedation dentistry to help you get past your fear and oral health issues promptly.

Using sedation dentistry for better oral health

Many patients with anxiety would rather put off procedures and deal with pain and sensitivity in their teeth. However, the longer you wait to get treatment, the more damage that decay and infection can do to your mouth. Eventually, issues can spread, deepening into your gums and bone, and the bacteria and toxins they create can make their way to your brain or heart. We offer three levels of sedation to help patients manage anxiety, so they can get the treatment they need as soon as possible.

  • Conscious Sedation: With conscious sedation, we use nitrous oxide, or laughing gas, to put patients into a relaxed state. Throughout your visit, you will be fully aware of what’s happening, but pain and anxiety will be greatly diminished. Nitrous oxide is easily reversible using oxygen, so patients can still drive themselves safely.
  • IV Sedation: If you have severe dental anxiety, our dental team may recommend IV sedation to help you relax. While you will be awake, you won’t be aware of what’s happening. The IV delivers the medication directly to your blood for a rapid effect, and it will be monitored by our team throughout your procedure.
  • General Anesthesia: This method of sedation will render you totally unconscious, and it is reserved for only the most extreme cases of anxiety, as you won’t be able to respond to instruction or answer any questions. Patients who undergo anesthesia can expect an additional hour or two of appointment time to allow them to wake up.

The cost of sedation dentistry will depend on the type you choose and the length of your procedure. Dr. Spagnuolo and Dr. Charrette can provide further details based on your specific issues during your consultation.

The sooner you address issues with your oral health, the more likely you can preserve your teeth. Patients looking for a “dentist that uses sedation near me” can call We Smile Dentistry in London, ON, at (226) 605-0042 today to book an appointment.
