Patients restore their smiles quickly and effortlessly in one visit with CEREC same-day crowns
At We Smile Dentistry, Dr. Giulio Spagnuolo and his team of registered dental hygienists, care specialists, and treatment coordinators are focused on being patients’ partners for healthy, stunning smiles for life. We believe the process of restoring oral health that often goes hand-in-hand with an attractive appearance should also be something worth smiling about! For this reason, Dr. Spagnuolo has invested in technologies that create the most pleasant, comfortable, and convenient experience and allow for the best outcomes.
CEREC Same-Day Crowns at We Smile Dentistry in London, Ontario, represent a popular, high-technology approach to a common procedure. When we say “same-day” crowns, we mean that your teeth can be rebuilt in just one easy appointment; there is no need to return to our office for multiple visits to restore badly decayed or otherwise badly damaged teeth. Minimizing the number of recall visits is not only a less stressful process that is well-suited to your busy lifestyle, but it’s also a safer approach in an environment of significant uncertainty and persistent social distancing. Regardless of what the future brings, We Smile Dentistry is there for you and your family with safe and convenient services that support health and well-being.
When you can benefit from a crown …
Dr. Spagnuolo and the team practise “partnership dentistry.” So, every effort is made to prevent the decay and disease that results in the need for restorations. When tooth decay is modest, you may be a good candidate for a simple filling; however, if decay progresses, a more extensive type of restoration may be needed to resolve pain and regain oral health. Inlays and Onlays are conservative alternatives to full-coverage crowns, which precisely fill in areas of decay with dental material — kind of like putting the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together. For more extensive areas of decay or damage, the placement of a crown may be the most appropriate treatment.
As its name implies, crowns are dental material shaped to fit securely over prepared natural, healthy tooth structure – similar to how a crown or cap fits snugly over a person’s head. This “replacement tooth structure” makes the most of the existing natural and healthy tooth structure underneath.
The process conventionally involves removing decayed parts of the tooth to make way for the crown. Your dentist takes measurements and creates a mould of your mouth. All of this information is sent to an outside lab, which uses it as a guide to making your crown. While you wait for lab technicians to create your new tooth, the dentist protects the prepared tooth by placing a temporary crown. Once the crown is made, you return to the office.
